I'm no expert, but what I understand is that at some point GM stopped producing the C1 latches with short handles and started selling C2 latches with longer handles as replacements for the C1s. The longer handles have been know to rub holes in the hardtop headliner and show a bump in the top of the soft top when it is latched.
