'65 327 Hi Perf partal engine
Someone is currently offering a '65 327 Hi Perf engine on the Raleigh CL for $400
327 / 300 HP Chevy engine and double hump heads.
I believe it's application was 1965 327 / 300 HP, Hi Perf. 4 -bbl
Block Casting # 3782870
Block Casting date: L 8 4 (December 8, 1964)
Stamp Pad: 131115 FI211HD (Engine assembly date December 11, 1964)
Head Casting: 3782461 Date: E 28 5
Head Casting: 3917291 Date: A 17 8
Block, crank, heads. No rods or pistons.

The HD suffix pertains to a 300hp passenger car engine. Still good if you don't have your original.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I seem to recall JohnZ saying that Tonawanda heads did not machine the double hump in the casting where Flint did, and that was an easy way to disqualify non-machined double hump heads from every being used on a C2.
From here that double hump casting appears unmachined to me.

If you look at the head casting dates posted above you will see that they did not start their life on this block.
