if you still have the originals with broken studs, RTV them on, no one will ever know (from the outside...). I did this with an emblem with a broken stud because repros were not available at the time.

I wish I did thats exactly what I would have done. The previous owner broke them years ago and threw them away.

'patina' wise, what is the 'patina' of the rest of your paint and chrome? the chrome on the emblems should never change, so the only weathering I can see would be the black in the center; i'm sure it can be 'weathered' to match the fading of the crossed flags (although i'm not sure exactly how except exposure to strong light). a google search shows a number of ways to 'patina' items.

The originals have a lot more casting flash on the edges than the repro ones if you're looking for absolute originality.
