if you still have the originals with broken studs, RTV them on, no one will ever know (from the outside...). I did this with an emblem with a broken stud because repros were not available at the time.

I wish I did thats exactly what I would have done. The previous owner broke them years ago and threw them away.

'patina' wise, what is the 'patina' of the rest of your paint and chrome? the chrome on the emblems should never change, so the only weathering I can see would be the black in the center; i'm sure it can be 'weathered' to match the fading of the crossed flags (although i'm not sure exactly how except exposure to strong light). a google search shows a number of ways to 'patina' items.

The originals have a lot more casting flash on the edges than the repro ones if you're looking for absolute originality.

The bevel on the raised perimeter differs on the repo.

The set for sale on eBay mentioned in your WTB post in the Corvettes for sale thread are not originals.

You might try Joe Calcagno at rarecorvettes.com. I've bought parts from him in the past. He's honest, knowledgeable and a C1 FI expert.

The fonts are slightly different between the two. Easy to see if you put an original next to a repo
