Does anybody know the last year for a dual point cast iron distributor with a tach drive?
i have purchased an engine with this type of distributor and looking to sell it to recover some money to have the block machine work done.
it has been converted to pertronix induction type ignition, and has an MSD adjustable vacuum advance canister on it.
to return it to points type, it looks that a couple screws on the breaker plate need to be loosened to remove the pertronix unit and two screws for the rotor.
viewing my 57 cast iron distributor next to it makes it apparent.
Looking to get $600 for it.

Since the distributor has a vacuum advance you may have a single point distributor that was converted to dual points. If there is a numbered band located at the mount flange that will help ID the distributor.
If you want to sell this, you will need to ID it better. I would estimate a reasonable market price price of $150. Look for the metal band that Alfred E. mentioned above.
Good luck,
Phillip
Thanks for the input.
the breaker plate has the 4 screw holes for the dual points, and a separate screw hole for the condenser.
it has an adjustable vacuum advance that leads me to believe that the engine may have been on a chassis or engine dyno and the distributor was modified for better performance.
the aluminum band is missing, it is on my 57 distributor so i understand what you are talking about.
thanks again
