327 engine
327 Chevrolet engine block casting number 3858174. See pictures for other casting numbers and dates.
This engine was in the ‘64 when I purchased it about 15 years ago and has been taking up space in my garage ever since. I can’t get it to turn over without my engine stand wanting to move so I’d say it’s seized. I believe it’s got 350 heads on it.
FYI: What you have is a 1966 (Cast I 23 5 - Sep 23, 1965) Flint plant 327, 275 hp, originally installed in a passenger car with a Holley carburetor. That is what the HCH part of the engine stamp tells us. Engine was assembled on 0925 (Sep 25th).
Heads are most likely 69 or later 350 heads, intake appears to be from a 63 Chevy, 300 hp cast iron intake, casting number 3799349, based on K 3 2 date code = Oct 3, 1962
