Hello,
Does ANYBODY have in their possession, a 1966, 427ci/425 hp motor with the last four digits on the block matching 8989?
Would buy.

I so hope the OP has the car and the block gets reunited with it. If that was an original block to one of my cars I'd hit that BIN immediately.

Ready for the machine shop ? I may be wrong but that looks like a crack between the 8 and last 9 . Extends into the water passage .

and the last eight stamp is incomplete. i believe there is more going on here than a grind out.

Thanks for all the responses.

I am investigating the "Questionable" original block on Ebay. I agree that it smells fishy with the discrepancies mentioned above.
