That has been going around the forum apparently. Couple threads in the C6 forum relating similar scam attempts.
I just bought some trim pieces from 1restoman; we made arrangements through PM and email and at the same time, another individual sent me a couple texts from someone whose area code was in a state the seller did not live in, saying the parts were "ready to go, $100, shipping included". Little did he know that shipping was NOT included in the price.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply the OP (PinkVetteLady) was a scammer. Obviously someone accessed her post and copied her photos of the balancer and sent them to my email, offering to make a deal for $100 shipped. Scammers and commies, I have no tolerance for either one.
BEWARE!! This is why scammers try to take their scams offline. No user ID, so it makes it difficult to know whether you are dealing with the actual seller or a scammer. Always do your online transactions through the Forum on PMs.
Chalie, just for clarity, site rules allow the seller to sell to whoever they choose to:
Posting an interest in a sale thread, or asking questions, does not subject the thread to being closed, nor, to the item being sold. An item will be consider sold, when the seller says it is, based on the simplicity of the sale.
The seller will determine who they want to sell their item/product to based on the expediency of payment, payment method, location, and overall ease of transaction. While some may feel that the first to commit to purchase in the thread would make it easy, it may not be for the seller. If another buyer lives nearby and can save the trouble of shipping, etc. the seller can move onto that buyer … let's remember, it is their item/product for sale.
This will eliminate the confusion of "dibs," replies to a thread, PM's, e-mail and telephone promotions/discussions, which has caused nothing but confusion and frustration in the past.
