Coats 20/20 Tire Machine For Sale
I am selling a used Coats 20/20 Tire machine for a garage customer of mine. This machine has the built in bead blaster for mounting a tire. The machine works like new and the only reason this garage is having me sell it is because he upgraded to one of the new Coats tire machines. This machine is in my posession and is located in central New Jersey in the town of Somerset, 08873. Asking $375.00. Free local delivery only or can be picked up. This machine is perfect for use for any C1 through C3 Corvette or muscle car (Aluminum or Steel wheels). Will also handle all steel wheels through 17" to date on just about any car or truck.

Re: Coats 20/20 Tire Machine For Sale (ffas23)
I have to admit that I am really surprised that no one is interested in this Coats 20/20 tire machine that I am selling, for their home garage. I have owned a 10/10 Coats machine since the 80's and I am able to take care of my fleet of cars and trucks about (13) total. With the Coats 10/10 the factory never offered an attached bead breaker. I had to purchase a portable one for about $250 back then. If I didn't have the 10/10 I would'nt even think of selling this 20/20 machine thats how good it is. The garage that had this machine used it up to a few months ago. He ended up spending close to $3,000 for one of the Coats new rim clamp machines do to the new style wheels as large as 20".

If this was next year and my "dream" garage was done being built, I would be on it, I would love to have a 20/20 or even a 10/10 for my person tire needs, I always buy them from Tire Rack for my cars and other sites for my bikes and have to get them mounted by others . . .

I know exactly what you are saying. I don't know what I would do without my tire machine and I guess my neighbors wouldn't know what to do either. It is hard enough to find a gas station that will mount a tire anymore. There use to be stations on every corner at one time. I even have a old bubble balancer made by Coats that I picked up years ago. I still use it and never have any problems with shake in the steering. I like having my own because I don't have to worry about a garage not remembering to not put the Wheel Weights on the front of the rim especially on Aluminum rims whichs scratches and gouges them up and causes corrosion.
This machine is sitting on a pallet if you change your mind. I have a fork truck and can load it on to any truck or van. They are getting harder and harder to find in good shape. You could purchase it and put a tarp over it until your garage is ready. You wouldn't lose any money on this machine in case you wanted to sell it down the road.
Like I said before I am surprised that it hasn't sold yet. I have sold quite a few used machines over the years. I always happen to find someone interested when there isn't any around to be had.

For the full amount of $375.00 I would deliver this machine up to a 25 mile radius of my home town. This machine is on a pallet and is heavy. If picked up I can easily load it with my fork truck. Delivered it will take some man power to take off without any other means of doing so.

I would guesstimate the weight to be at least 350-400 lbs. Two strong fellows could slide it off a Van and dolley it to where you would want it. This is a heavy duty tire machine that was made to last, its not a toy.

Gee, wouldja deliver it to Florida for an extra $100 plus some beer?
I don't have my dream garage yet but I could find some room (near my bubble balancer!)
Wish I coulda grabbed one of those 2-post lifts you scrounged up a few months ago...same problem - distance.

Hey Bill,
You know what you are about a month two late contacting me. I probably could of had a buddy of mine deliver it to you. He was here in N.J. not to long ago and he lives almost in your back yard in Port Charlotte. I bet he would of taken the $100 for gas money and I know he wouldn't of refused the beer.
I still have this tire machine here no one has made a claim for it in my area. Most people who are interested are from out of state. Maybe you could find a independant trucker who runs back and forth to N.J. Don't laugh! I had a Frame and Street Rod body picked up in Miami and delivered right to my door about 10 years ago on two different occasions by a trucker from N.J. who picked up produce in Florida. He was happy to make $200 on the frame and $300 the last time on the fiberglass body. I am sure even by todays prices someone could probably deliver this tire machine for $100 if they pass through your area. Start making some phone calls.

I don't have a exact picture of this machine but will have my daughter take a couple of digitals by this weekend to email you.

That'll be fine. Thanks!
BTW, I'm pretty sure that machine would handle my Kelsey-Hayes 6" wires (Buick Skylark 1954) on my 57. Am I correct?

Re: Coats 20/20 Tire Machine For Sale (SebringBill)
Bill,
Take your time I still have the machine. Actually I was contacted about this machine yesterday from someone in Texas who did a Google search and ended up seeing this thread on the Corvette Forum about the Coats tire machine for sale. He wanted to know how much it would cost to ship the machine to Texas. I mentioned how it would cost around $300 to ship the machine from N.J. to Florida and haven't heard anymore from him.
By the way that friend of mine from Virginia said that if you weren't in a hurry he should be back up again in a month or so and can bring the machine to Virginia for $100 for your N.C. friend to pick up. This would pay for his gas. What do you think?

Just letting everyone know that the 20/20 Coats Tire Machine that was for sale earlier this year now belongs to Corvette Forum member SebringBill. I delivered it right to his door in Sarasota, Florida after my wife and I decided to go on a road trip to Florida leaving New Jersey Sunday Oct. 10th. We traveled down to Miami first arriving there Monday Oct. 11 spending 3 days while my wife took a computer class at her employer's Miami Kendall facility on Wednesday. We left Miami for the West Coast taking on I-75 Alligator Alley, 100 miles of nothing but two lanes of highway on each side, and fencing to keep the gators off the highway and bridges for the Florida Panther to pass under. This highway takes you to Naples and up the west coast past Fort Myers and up through Porta Gorda where Hurricane Charlie hit head on including Port Charlotte. Sarasota where SebringBill lives was another 40 minutes or so up from Port Charlotte. We arrived there on Thursday afternoon Oct.14th and stayed until the morning of the 20th leaving for 2 days in Orlando visiting with a relative for one and spending the other at Disney. We left for home Friday morning the 22th.
I got to know Sebring on this forum over the last year and he is one heck of a guy. He owns a beautiful Red 57' Corvette Vert. along with a beautiful red 97' Coupe. While staying in Florida my wife and I joined Bill at a local cruise-in for Classic cars in Sarasota. At that cruise-in Sebring threw his keys at me to just take the 57' with my wife for a ride but I declined not wanting to be responsible for anything that could possibly happen not knowing the area very well. We did settle to take a couple of pictures seated in the car though. The trip to Florida for us was our second in eight years and my wife and I can truly say we like Sarasota. I may decide to become one of Sebrings neighbors once I decide to retire if Bill doesn't mind.
