I thought that it was time to start a thread & let all of you know that #1 I do own a 1974 Corvette coupe & to also see the progress that has been made on it since it came off a moving van nearly 2 years ago. The car is named Sassi. Its my wife's car so I have no idea why she named it that way. Anyhow I'm going to put three links into this thread. They are all dial up friendly & they lead to thumbnails with a bit of text that you can enlarge if you want to. The pictures are current up to a couple weeks ago which was the last time I was at the body shop.
Its going to be very nice when done. Looking forward to new pics. How far along on the paint are they? Are they close to shooting color yet?
Right now they're dealing with the rust on the front part of both door frames. I'll have to go down there on Friday & see what's up. The last time I checked they were blocking & sanding the rear.
Well I spoke with the body shop this morning... They told me that the right door jamb had been fixed & that the holes are gone. That was the good news. The bad news is that behind the riveted plate on the A pillar they discovered rust & rot along its entire length.
I'm not sure whether to or I'll be heading over there on Wednesday to see for myself & to take more pictures.
what is the ETA on the "end" of the build? (We all know it NEVER truly ends but you get the point LOL)
Thanks Mike! THe ETA was originally supposed to be last weekend. Mark wanted to have the car ready for Auto Fair. But we weren't going so I told him it would be nice to have her ready for CI VI.
I think that this last bit of news will make that impossible as well so I told him to get it done when he can. Mark is a good guy & probably the most **** retentive body & paint guy that I know. He wants us to get the car back & be awed with the paint job. He's just as AR with every vehicle that comes into his shop. He's a good friend & a class act all the way around.
Mechanically all she needs is an alignment & getting the AC system charges. Violater said he would come down to adjust the springs. We have the new audio system waiting too.
