Sorry, I was not trying to cause a heated debate, just vent a little bit and maybe bring a with the reference to the switch back poll. I am sure I will adapt, don't have much choice no do I?

Now let's all have a while we welcome spring in.

I am sure the folks with technical questions appreciate it already. I know I will. Those threads are the most valuable as far as the forum goes, and now will stand out alot more.

I think its all good in my books, as the first poster ever I think I shall act as a good-will ambassador and ask that both parties please meet in the middle, hug, and then sit down and talk about our common love, the Corvette

Give it some time and try and keep an open mind.
I hear ya'... but after "some time" - if it's craap then... can we call it like it is ? Or is this some kind of cult ?

This was all predicted. There will be twice as many posts as before - but in divided into two sections now. We'll all look in both just to make certain we don't miss anything.
No time or will be saved when surfing the C3 section.

Then there will be those that post the same question - in both sections making certain everyone see's it (not realizing that we all end up looking in both anyways).

History repeats itself... AGAIN

Yes it is quite an improvement as now you can read one first page in Tech and with a click of the mouse you can read another first page in General..... hey wait a minute isn't that exactly the same thing as clicking on page 2 in the original forum ?

Now it takes twice as long to read what's new.

Why not just moderate with a heavy hand and send the "fluff" posts (e.g. - Another fugly C3 on Ebay, blah, blah, blah) to OT immediately, leaving the relevant stuff in one C-3 section (and warning the pablum poster ).

Another vote for sux...

I think the split is great. It's not about saving time or about clicking between 2 sections, it's about the posts (technical if you will) being around for more than a couple of hours. Some people actually have to work and can't surf the forum at will, they have to wait till they get home. By then a post requesting help can be 3 pages away and very hard to find. the folks that don't check in but every few days have it even worse. Not only that, but they miss alot of things that would interest them.

We've grown too big for just a one section forum. I personnaly don't think it's an us or them situation, I still like all you guys and I will visit and post in this general section as well as the tech section, even if you feel so injured that you won't look at the tech section.

Give it a chance.

Its a cult.

Its working out great for me. I posted a tech question this morning and its still visible. Amazing.

I notice a poll here in general on what year car you have. If i see one more of those my head is going to explode.

i'm outta here. back to tech.

AHHH-HAAA so you were here checking though...hmmmmm ???

What makes you think "polls" like that will stay in General though. They will creep into Tech, and even when locked/moved they will still take-up space on the Tech page.

be careful what you wish for...
