i was thinking about getting new mufflers soon. at Napa i can get some Ultra flows for about 60 a piece but i dont wanna get something without knowing what it sounds like. my current muflers have somehwat of resonance at about 1500 rpm which i like, it makes it sound nice and its not outrageous like these little kids in their Rustangs. is there anything out there that has a little bit of growl to it? i saw a 1958 tonight and it sounded like it had chambered exhuast or something and sounded really nice. would it be advisable to replaced the whole entire exhaust system while im at it? or should i just leave it, cuz all of the exhuast pipe is rusted like someone ran through the Pacific Ocean. any suggestions and sound bytes are welcome.
if you post sound clips, rev the mottor so i can hear what it sounds like at high rpm. Thanks!
I have some .mpg files I could email you with my chambered exhaust system at 7000 RPM (annoying the heck out of my neighbors too )Would that help? If so, send me your email in a PM and I will send them to you as attachments.
My car wont be done for about 2 wks so cant take any sound clips (swapping my org 69 350 for a mod'd zz4 .similiar to the zz430).. but i can tell you that I actually really like my flowmaster 40 deltas. You either love them or hate them. They are a free flowing exhaust and have a nice meaty sound.
If you like a softer tone or like listening to music when you drive, do not buy these.
My 2 pennies...
Another awesome sounding car, keep them coming guys. Previous owner on my car did what looks to be a cheap midas special and now that the stroker is in I need to make it sound better.
Anyone got a soundclip from the chambered exhaust that mid america sells?
this is gonna sound dumb, but anyone have a stock system with mufflers other than Flow's? i think they are nice but i wanna hear some variety before i purchase a set.
