MSD ignition and spark plug advice
I got my complete MSD system in today from Summit. It includes the tach drive distributor w/ vacuum advance (MSD#8572), 6A ignition box and the 8.5mm MSD wires.
Here is my question - what is a good name brand spark plug to use for the MSD system. My application is a mild cam 454 BB.

I've got the MSD setup also. My engine builder recommends Champion or AC for my small block. (I wouldn't know sizes for BB). He says with these high output systems like MSD, you can increase gap say from .35 recommended to .45 and get a bigger spark in addition to multiple sparks, which will buy 3-5hp. He's never seen any improvement from the fancy platinum points, split gap etc. Just not needed when you are running blow-torch ignitions!!

Have the same MSD setup as you except for a 6AL box and on a smallblock. Started out with Accel plugs and later changed to Champions (cheaper and easier to find). Both brands run fine.

Don't know about BB's, but AR said to use Autolite plats in this 383. I've got an MSD 6AL and tachdrive dist with no vac advance and it works fines.
