I just found this stuff at the craft store that is EXCELLENT! I used it to go over all of the console and gauge trim where all of the "chrome" came off.
It's called Krylon Silver Leaf and it's in a pen. The tip is made of some kind of fiber, so when you start to go over those raised lines on the console and gauge trim, it develops a nice groove. So it gets REAL EASY to just sweep this groove over all those raised edges that used to be "chrome". It improves the look 100%, and looks even better with a second application.
I also used it to do the "chrome" parts on the inside door handle trim.
Just thought I'd share my discovery. I got so many tips and tricks here, I figure it's my turn to give back...
I'll post pics if I get a chance. I wish I had taken 'before' pics, but alas it is too late.
Paint pens ... good for touch up but remember it is paint - not chrome.
I remember going over the entire interior of my first car (70 Impala)
with a gold paint pen. I had never seen the Krylon brand ...
