Default Information on 1979

In 1979 were you able to order chrome mirrors and get credit for the standard sport mirrors? I am thinking about purchasing a 1979. It has the sport mirrors, but the window sticker has a credit for approximately $28.00, so I'm thinking that the sport mirrors were added on later. Anyone know if this is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Later production 79s the sport mirrors were made standard. My 79 window sticker shows a $26 credit. Also made standard was the ZX2 convience group which shows a $35 credit. I'm sure the base price went up to offset all the credits, tho!

Thanks Mike. Do you have factory sport mirrors on yours?
ZX2 shows a 94 dollar cost on this one.

Yeah, I have the sport mirrors. Mine is late, late 79 production, last 2 weeks. Has the 85mph speedometer Lot of stuff was made standard late 79 leading to 1980 production. A/C, Tilt-tele wheel, power windows. Of course, the base price went up about $3000 from 79 to 80.
Mike

What's the base price at the top of the window sticker that you're looking at?

The base price reads $11,530. I was concerned about the sport mirrors that are on the car. I want to make sure that they are the original factory mirrors because of the window sticker showing as D35 credit, but because it is listed as standard on the left of the sticker, and because your sticker pretty much says the same credit and you have the sport mirrors, I hope these are the same.

Mine says $12,330! They were really generous with the credits, weren't they!
Yours sounds legit.

This is something that occured to me. The column on the left says TWIN REMOTE mirrors. I'm now thinking the credit might be for if you opted NOT to have the passenger side as remote. I've seen in an 80 where they had the remote "joystick" on the console. 81 went to electric mirrors. Just a thought. Reason I'm thinking this is A/C, power windows, and tilt/tele wheel were made standard on mine and no credit given there.
