Anyone else have this in their fiberglass?
I have a 1973 and there looks to be lines running down the upper pare of the quarter pannels. The paint is original and wearing a little thin. It is like this front and back, both sides. I looks to be a seam in the fiberglass but i don't know. Is it just a factory defect? Anyone else have this?
Thanks
Nick

yep they are seams...if not properly prepped, they will show up thru your paint. Fiberglass tends to soak in paint, so prep is everything or you'll see fiber strands and seams later on, even if its a nice thick paint job.

Congratulations - this means you've got the original paint, and the original glass on your car.
The bonding strips are made of a different material than the body panels, and over time the difference shows up in the paint in the way you describe.
Show cars will have the bonding strips gouged out and glassed over. Once the panel is consistent by doing this, those lines won't ever show.
