Default Hello Greetings From Georgia

It's been a while since I stopped back to give you guys/gals an update on my situation. I've been living down here in Georgia for just about 2 months now. I currently have a full time job working at Bally's Total Fitness on Cobb Parkway (Smyrna). I'm in charge of sales and have gotten really into bodybuilding, I've put on a healthy 15lbs of lean mass and my body fat % is 4.6. It's crazy to think I was shaving weight off my car only to add it to my body. Things have been going great, I'm going to wait a little bit before I go back to finish out my college schooling (I'm currently a Junior). I'll probably end up going to either Georgia State or Kennesaw. As for the girl situation, Robyne ended up moving down to Georgia also. She lives in Deluth which is approximately 30 miles from where I live....so it's not that bad.

I'm sure you guys are wondering about the Corvette.....well I ended up selling it. Haha, just kidding. Actually the rebuilt 468 big block is in it and running! I finished installing it before I left for Georgia so it's still back home in good old Pennsylvania. Man the motor is wicked. I never got to drive it before I left (snow) but it revs so much faster than the last version. If you don't remember the setup here is what I did:

454 +.060" (468ci)
4340 Forged Crank (Internally Balanced)
4340 H-Beam Rods & 11:1 Compression Pistons
320cc Aluminum Pro Topline Heads, 2.25/1.88 Valves
Weiand Team G Intake
Holley 1050cfm Dominator
Comp Cams 294S Solid Flat Tappet
Fluid Damper & Aluminum Flywheel
Hooker Side Pipes (2 1/8" Primaries, 4" Collectors)

The funny thing is that the heads have raised exhaust ports....and I didn't have to alter my headers at all. It's running great I just have some small things to do like figure out how to get the hood to close, install the side tubes with mufflers, get my headlights to pop up and lean out the carburetor and it's good to go. I want to schedule about a week off of work and drive home to trailer it and all of my tools down here so I can enjoy it in this great Georgia weather.

Not everything has been great though. I just found out the other day that my high school buddy, whom I used to cruise and drag race with was in a bad 4 wheeler accident. He has a good bit of brain damage and isn't in very good shape. I'm trying to get time off work and buy a plane ticket to fly home to see him....although he's currently not responsive. He was the first person to ever give me a ride in his big block car. We used to drink together, go to swap meets looking for parts. So right now is kind of rough for me.

Anyway, I hope everything has been going good on the forum and I hope all of my old friends are still on here browsing .

Say man, I live about 45 miles from Clymer I'd be happy to break that motor in for you till you get back. Maybe a couple of passes at Keystone Raceway. Heh, heh

Welcome to the sunny South. Just wait until August....

That motor sounds wicked. But, I thought you were going to put it into a drag Camaro???

Originally the motor was going to go in the Camaro. The engine build was pretty expensive (around $6000-$6500) so it delayed the build up of the Camaro. I don't have the time or the money right now to get the Camaro straightened around so I'm just going to run the Corvette.

Hey great to see you around again! I thought you weren't going to Ga??

You need to find a way to get to Bowling Green Memorial Day weekend!!

We'll all be there and we can take a ride in mine so you can remember what it felt like! Last year I was making laps...it was like "Jims Disneyland"...everyone got a ride!!)

See ya,

JIM

Hey Shane, good to see ya back on the forum.

I might have to make a trip to Indiana Pa to keep your vette warmed up every now & then until you're able to ship her down to Ga.

Nice I caught your post Shane. I could care less about the motor but Robyne now that is a keeper. I hope you 2 are still together??? I prefer a good woman over a car anyday.
