Default Hello VetteHeads, I need Help Please.

My Boss has a 1980 Corvette. He was having a hard time with his door not shutting this weekend. Well long story short, he got it shut with a gentle push and now it will not open. ....
He says it seems to be latched but can't get her open.

He can't get to the door panel because of fasteners that are not accessable with the door shut.

Any suggestions would be excellent. Thank you.

What I had to do to get mine open is take the seat out, take the trim off the roof that hides the last screw in the door and then take the door panel off. Mine was so stuck I still could not get it open with access to the inside of the door. I eventually read where one guy just jiggled the crap out of one of the rods, so I put some vice grips on the one rod and jiggled it like crazy and it finally opened, lots of fun

There are other less drastic things yoy can do to open the door depending on how it is stuck but I have had to take the seat out twice now.

Thanks Guys, I found out the Vettes a '75 not an '80 if it matters. He also has T-Tops. Everything seems to be working but still can't get the door open.

Here's a past thread on the same subject

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...uck&forum_id=3

And if it wasn't that thread, I saw where someone said you might try cuttting the striker bolt and then replace it.
