Just wanted to know if anyone has installed pics of any Hurst T *****? Looking to get one, but don't know what would be a nice one to get ... checked out Jegs and summit racing, and they seem to have a few but would like to also see installed pics.

Well first you need a Hurst Competition Plus Shifter, (about $300 plus installation). It comes with the standard 4sp white ball. The t-hanldle has the word "HURST" embossed in the top and is about $50 (I think). The one I have is from the '60-70's. It's the same one I had since my first muscle car, a '67 Firebird Formula 400. Actually, when I first bought my T-handle, I had a choice of silver or gold "fuzzy" finish. I chose the silver but it really didn't matter since all the fuzzy stuff wore off after a while.
The handle installs by first screwing on a bolt-stop all the way down the shaft. It's actially only about an inch threaded. The screw on the t-handle until its in the position you desire. Then screw the stop bolt up the shaft to meet & hold the handle in place. Viola, you're done.

Ok, I ran out to the garage and snapped a couple pics.
First one is from above so you get an idea how it looks (the flash always makes my interior look like crap)
Here is the shifter handle off of the shifter. Almost all manual shift ***** just screw onto the shifter. The Hurst handle I bought came with three adapters so you can fit it to different size shifters.
I use a hurst white ball & gm chrome ball & hurst t- handle. for drag racing only the t-handle as palm sweat has made my hand slip off the ball handles...
Not trying to hijack this thread, but I have a question about this shifter.
With this Hurst Competition Plus shifter, do you lose the reverse lockout feature like on a stock shifter? Or do they incorporate a different type of lockout? Say for instance, push down on the shift handle then engage reverse???
Thanks in advance,
Darryl

I just have to push hard to the left then up to get it in reverse. Mine was installed by the previous owner so I'm not sure how it is actually supposed to operate. But, it is hard enough to get the shifter left enough to go into reverse that I could never accidentally throw it into reverse.
