Nice car but it does nothing for me. I'm not drooling over it. I can think of alot of other things I could do with $750K then purchase a 71' Corvette with a big block for that kind of money. To tell you the truth I like small block Vette's the best.
The way I see it, the prices of some of the rarer C3's have started going through the rough the last couple of years. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the rarer C3's are the most expensive 'vettes there are. Pretty soon the values of all our cars will increase enough where we can't do nothing else but restore them (see C1&C2 forum). That'll be boring.
I could see it selling for that much if it was PERFECT seeing as it was 1 of 12 cars.. but.. did they really come with an LS6? I thought it was an LS5
LS5 was the standard BB in 71, 365hp. LS6 was the high performance BB with 425hp. ZR2's were the "special purpose" ready to race BB and came with the LS6. Sort of the L88 of 71. I'll be interested to see where the bidding goes, but I'd be surprised to see it much above $100k.
It said that it had a 40,000 sympathetic freshening of the car in 2003.
I guess that did not include repainting the valve covers where they are peeling off paint. For $750,000 wouldnt you expect a perfect car?

Yea what is with this so called $40,000 sympathetic refreshening of the car anyway? My 73' Coupe looks as good if not better then this car on Ebay to me with an original 25K on it and I would be lucky to get $20K for it if I decided to sell and you know what I would rather have my 73' then the 71' on Ebay. I could care less about the big block. Like I said and I will say it again. I rather have a small block in my Vette. Been driving them since 1970 and had both small and big blocks. Rather have the small block. Just my opinion.
Cmon guys, this is a very rare car. Collectors go apecrap over these. We don't think it's worth 750k cause we aren't collectors, we're drivers. BIIIG difference. Oh, and that LS6 aint 425 HP, well maybe....at 3500 rpm....

Are you nuts?!
The reason this car is worth what it is is because it still has the origional paint on the valvecovers.
It's like a preiceless antique that has been stripped and revarnished. It's now almost worthless...
This car is now a musuem piece. it will never see the road again.
And if you think this is $$$$ go price an origional Hemi Cuda...

Brett, I just took notice of your avatar. Can you email me a larger picture so I can show my wife. Her favorite cat is a orange Tabby. We have 3 of them.
Well,it may make the Barret Jackson auction.Curious why it was not there in Arizona last time around.Bet it was the "no reserve" that kept them away.Heh.
It is not everyday thay a ZR2 comes up for sale as they are extremely rare. This one has some serious paperwork to back up its pedigree.Even though they are so rare,i still believe a REAL documented 68-69 L88 will still be more desirable.Right now the 68-69 L88 is as hot as a pistol......JMHO...JERRY
