Default Spring Bolts - what grade ?

So anyone know what grade bolts I need on the end of my rear spring ? I put 8 inch ones on it from an aftermarket place but thats not enough to even get it down to where its uppose to be so looking at getting longer ones from someplace. Maybe the hardware store if I can get the right grade.

I bought mine from Ecklers, so not sure of the grade. The hardware store would probably be much cheaper.

I used 10 inch bolts and cut them about an inch after they were on the car. It really improves the stance once you finally get it right.

I wouldn't use anything less than grade 8. My Sears Hardware has a new section of Grade 5 and Grade 8 Bolts

My VBP kit came with fine thread grade 8 bolts and plated nylok nuts.

(I gues this isn't the place to mention that they were 8" long and fit like a glove?)

I'd be interested in them if they'll fit my a C3. I got my 8 in. ones from VBP but the 10 in. ones they had were for C4's. If they'll work I'll take them.

The C4 10" bolts are same diameter as the 8" and will fit. I picked some up at Carlisle last year.

Default be careful

Just be sure not to use mild steel bolts. Bubba put some in the car I bought, and I cleaved one off. Lucky for me I was on a soft sand road, and it just set down on the ground. I keep thinking about crossing the railroad tracks north of my town and having that spring catch the tracks when it let go. Also make sure the bushings surrounding the bolt are up to snuff. Bubba had messed with them and there was no protection for the bolt from the hardened spring. Buy the apropriate kit from ecklers or mad or corvette central.
