I just bought replacement rain diverters for my 79 (my originals aren't there now). Now that I have the diverters, I'm trying to find out what size screws (or rivets) these things were attached with. I got the diverters from Ecklers (part no. 47787), but they didn't come with any hardware.
Any suggestions on where to get proper screws/rivets or what to use? Not looking to get to NCRS standards, but I do try to keep things as original as possible for the most part. Thanks
My passenger side is missing. I too need to buy replacements. Like yourself, I'm not into NCRS so I was just planning on visiting my local hardware store for replacement rivets. I don't recall seeing reproduction rivets specifically for this application.

So they were riveted? I haven't really researched it but mine are missing too. I bought the new diverters just never installed them.
Anyone got any pics of them installed? Would like to see if they are painted or not.
They are held in with cheap aluminum pop rivets on the bottom and sometimes a chrome screw on the side. The diverter fits at the aft end of the sill plate, placed at a right angle to it with the rubber on the aft end of that, so rain coming down the door frame is directed out of the car. Put it in place and drill a small hole through the fiberglass then measure the depth from the top of the plate to the bottom of the fiberglass. It's probably 1/4 inch or less and for this application it's not real critical. Take one of them into your local hardware store and get the biggest pop rivet that fits into the hole on the diverter. Then drill that diameter hole in the fiberglass. Put the rain diverter in place, install the rivet and then polish for good measure.
OR you can come to McKinney and I'll do it for you. Call first.

I was afraid they were going to be painted. I guess I will see what I came come up with and get them polished and installed with pop rivets. Mine has both holes and had some in there before painting but the rubber was shot on one side and missing on the other. I didn't remember how they were attached.
