Cragar Wheels....are they having a quality problem???
I received my Cragar SS wheels from Jegs today....all 4 came in not being "true"...they were slightly egg-shaped....enough to where I needed about 9-10oz to balance the wheel. That's even after breaking the tire down and rotating it 3 times!!!!! Finally when I put the wheel (without the tire) on the balancer and spun it, you could see it warble.... I did it to all 4 wheels....and the same.....WARBLE, WARBLE, WARBLE!!! So I had to remount my stock wheels and it balanced up perfectly (.25 oz to balance)...so I know the machine is good. Jegs said they got a "bad batch" of Cragar wheels..and won't get another shipment in until May 5th!!! I have since ordered the wheels from Summit Racing. Now I'm wondering about the quality of Crager wheels.....Any help or comments will be GREATLY appreciated...
Never heard that about the new Cragar's, but I have heard several people on this forum mention their new Torq Thrust IIs out of round and/or warped side to side.
This stuff says volumes about their production quality controls and management.
