Default Good degreaser

i've been doing some cleaning/detailing work on the car and I am in the area of the frame under the fan and fan shroud. It is pretty loaded up with road dirt and grease/oil. I have a degreaser concentrate which does not seem to loosen the grease very well. I remember using 'GUNK' a long time ago on engines. Is this stuff still around and does it break up the grease very well? Any other suggestions?

ive been cleaning up my engine compartment sense i have the engone out and i went to target and bought a shark steamer for $100 and used that and it has been working awsome. it cleans all kinds of things and my wife wants to use it to clean the bathrooms when im done. it gets in spots that a wire brush cant and melts away all kinds of nasty stuff on the frame and any other parts of the car. the only down side is you have to wait 10 minutes after you fill it and plug it in for it to be hot enough to start steaming but once you start going its awsome so the longer it sits and warms up the better it works.

I used Marine Clean I got it from Por-15 but I'm sure you can buy it at any marine supply, just be careful what you get it on, and you will have to re-paint or undercoat after. This stuff really works, it cuts grease and grime to the metal and leaves a dull finish. I used that rattle can truck bed liner from Auto Zone or one of the parts dealers to re-cover, it came out great and the finish is hard enough that rocks won't chip it

If you are going to repaint the area after you clean, you could use a good quality oven cleaner. I use it to cut all the grease. It is hard on the paint, so use it only where you will repaint.
