I have a 69 427-390hp convertible with factory sidepipes and air con.It is Daytona yellow(984 paint code),vinyl interior(zq4 trim code). It has a 4 speed muncie(p9b10a).The engine code is T021ILM.To the best of my knowledge it is all numbers matching.VIN # 194679S716745.I also have the factory hardtop.
Is this a rarer corvette than most and any idea of the current value?
not really rare has a big block but that l36 was in TONS of cars in 68-69 i had one myself a few months back and sidepipes aren't that rare and to have air is good but i see lots of 69's with air sounds like a nice car though
I don't see too many '69 Daytona Yellow, big block, sidepipe verts with a factory hardtop driving around. Even looking at my 1994 panoramic photo from the Bloomington Gold Silver Salute (25 year anniversary of 1969's), I see only a few. Its not one of 10 or one of 50, but I would say it is of the "rarely seen" variety.
I think that being a convertible, an original big block, side pipes, and especailly the color, make it very, very desireable. I would certainly purchase it over a green, blue, and even red one although I am biased towards Daytona Yellow.
Its 'rare' to someone specifically looking for a BB vert, with that combination of options and colours!
because whenever you are looking for something specific it doesn't seem to be out there!
L36's were the second most common engine option on Vettes in 69....only a couple thousand less built than the L46 small block. The Muncie 4 speed is not rare, the vinyl is definitely not rare, but the AC in a vert is. That said, there are not too many yellow convertible big blocks with sidepipes running around here lately...if it had a black top I might ask if it was for sale . That's a neat car, IMO.
That's a very nice car & plenty desirable. The option combo helps & matching numbers help quite a bit too. In spite of the high number of 69 bigblock Vettes produced you also have to think of how many still exist & then figure that alot of those survivors have lost the original motors during the last 36 years. It didn't start out rare but it gets closer with every passing year.
Les, i agree with you.If you can figure out how many 69 BB verts or coupes that still have the ORIGINAL MATCHING NUMBERS MOTOR you would be surprised how few are left.Which in theory would make it rare indeed...JMHO JERRY
