What Is Correct Air Pressure For Tires On 1979 Vette Stock

32 PSI for both 225-70-15's and optional 255-60-15's including temporary spare 195-80-15.

why do you suppose on my 77 they have a door decal that says 20 front and 26 rear? its seems awfully low.

mine says 30 front and 35 rear then another sticker says 20 front and 26 rear

lower air pressure will give a softer ride...best all around pressure IMHO is 32

Could it be because of bias ply tires? I don't know when radials came out.

Read section 5 of the owners manual.For 78,they are refering to load range"B" radial tires.
But in no way would I run 20 PSI on the front for street.Not even 25.
32 PSI works good and allows for increases of 4-6 PSI for sustained driving which occurs when tires heat up.
Autocross is another matter. I used to start with 34 front,32 rear.

not that i'm endorsing this..... only reporting what the owners manual says....77 does have radial tires on it and yup 20lbs front 26 rear

Yep.My placard says same.But what "comfort" is there running tires under inflated ??? Reminds me of the Ford Explorer/Firestone fiasco.Heh.

been looking for the "correct" spare for the 79. 195-80-15?? what kind of rim was that on??? a little donut spare? or something else? where can i find one?

Steel rim.15 ". You can fit a 205-70-15,if you want.
