Hey vette owners, is there any way people can post problem vendors in one central place that is avaiable at all times? Would sure help newbies like me who don't have much experience ordering on line. One thing that I have learned from forum members, is that Summit is a good company. I only found this out by searching through old threads one night.
Afterall, the forum has links to supporting vendors, why not a link to bad vendors.
I've been here a long time, and everytime someone has a problem with a vendor they present the problem to the covetteforum communite. The problem is that many times it's simple a misunderstanding between the customer and the vendor. And Believe me this has happened to me personally. But in general it stirs up bad publicity for the fourm and the vendor wants nothing more to do with corvetteforum. A better way is to ask in a post if a vendor is reliable and fair. You;ll get answers both positive and negitive and from those that reply and you can pick or decide if you want to give that vendor your business. Another way is going to corvette shows. If a particular vendor is wronged many a soul, you'll hear about from the folks you talk with. Trust me on this, creating a bad vendors list is a big mistake and comes back to haunt the forum time and time again.
If a vendor makes right on a wrong, then I think we should forget about the wrong, but if they don't I think people should hear about it until the vendor makes good. I am more likely to do bussines with a vendor that has done a wrong and then fixes the problem then if I have heard nothing about the vendor at all.
A vendor that is willing to make it right will have my support every time
If you think about it, there is a very good chance that EVERY vendor would make that bad list. All it would take is one person to have problems, and many hundreds or thousands that didn't. Do business with those who have given you good service, even if they cost a little more. With the amount of competition there is among vendors I'm sure that they all try to do the best they can.
