I have a 1979 Vette and it is working close to great EXCEPT when the car warms up it begins to smell like burning rubber inside the car. This can get so bad that sometimes it is hard to drive the car with the windows up. Can anyone help me with this problem? Please either respond on this forum or email me at NEWDL@AOL.COM

the exhaust gets very hot on these cars and are known to burn carpet and plastic objects left on the floor. might want to start there first.

Have you put a new exhaust on recently? When I put my exhaust on my 78 the rear Y pipe wasnot bent correctly and would rub against the inside of the rear tire (255/60/15)

Are you certain its a "burning rubber" smell and not a "burning oil" smell? Before I sealed my valve cover leaks, oil would drip on the manifolds and choke me out of the car.

I noticed the smell too after I dropped in the 406ci, it was accompanied by a screeching noise

I got a similar smell after installing my AR-383..
