Hey All-

I bought my first corvette this past summer and intend on bringing her back to "better than" her original glory. My question is does anyone know how much a C3 Body weighs? I would like to take the body off the frame and want to know if i can hang it from the rafters in the garage with additional steel beam support. I am looking to lift the body off with no interior, no doors, no t-tops, etc. Basically, i just want to know how much a stripped down body weighs. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Cant say for sure the exact weight, but I just lifted my 68 body today with an engine hoist. I would guess 350-400 lbs roughly.

Thanks....in other words straps and a come along from the rafters in the garage would be plenty strong.

It is light enough for 3-4 people to lift.

I think the weight is closer to 1000lbs.
