Ok I'm trying to make my vette as original looking as possible. Not really into all of the rules of NCRS(what ever the initials are), I just like the way the ignition shields look. Ok my question here is I've looked through eckler's catalog and there are a bunch of different parts. What parts exactly do I need. Also is there a better place to get them from that might have all the parts/hardware that I need in a kit. And then ecklers lists the same part over with and 'E' in the part number further confusing me. Thanks in advanced for all of your help.
I'm not sure if a reproduction piece if the way you want to go since it sounds like you want it pretty original. If I were you I would look on ebay for a original one and if it needs it get it rechromed.
then again the repo's might be dead on with the originals...I just know with like repo air cleaners they don't have the warning on the inside etc...
You need to 2 upright brackets that bolt to the rear intake manifold bolts, 2 piece chrome plated box, a full surround piece and a lid. Also wingnuts to attach the lid and sides of ignition shield box to brackets. A set of braided steel shielded, grounded spark plug wires that have ground straps that attach to threaded posts on each side of the ignition shield box, as well as the other end grounding to valve cover bolts. Also 2 individual insulator grommets that protect the braided spark plug wires as they are inserted thru each side of the ignition shield box.
