Default Wheels

Hi folks,

this is a pic of 1979 Corvette and its wheels are not original. I am wondering what car (eventually year) those wheels originally belong to?

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/phot...cat/500/page/1

Thanx

Those are not stock. They are after market. I believe ther are called "Western" or "Turbine" wheels. May find some on ebay or something like that.

O.K. I took the Corvette from U.S. to Czech republic (Europe we have the best beer but you have the best cars) and I do not really care if those wheels are aftermarket or not because I am happy I have at least some wheels. Just wanted to know...Here's not too much to choose from...

Thanx.

Actually, those are American Racing Vectors. They were very popular in the early 80s. The Dodge Charger "General Lee" from the TV show The Dukes of Hazards had them on it,,,,or should I say on them.....all of them..

I agree
American Racing Vector wheels. Western Wheels also mad a simular type of wheel. Mid 70s early 80s production, I never really liked them all that much but, to each his own (lots were put on "Boogie Vans" in the mid 1970s I did once see a Black 73 Chevy 1/2T Step-side "slammed" with Vectors and Mustang tail lights, they looked good on it.)

These are Western Cyclone II wheels. I had them on my 1979 many moons ago.

Stock wheels for your '79 were 15x8 rally wheels. The aluminum Big Wheels were optional (N90). A set of either would be right at home on your coupe.
