Yep.This is common. My drivers side was cracked.The thin metal that laps onto the cross member.In my case the factory fit up was not good,and where the tack weld ended,it cracked.Be sure and clean it good before welding.

while you are there ..look at the pass side lower control arm mounting on the frame crossmember....close to fuel pump.....lots of these are crap...
