Keith (owner/ dyno wizard) took care of me- a new 2.5" exhaust all the way back to two Magnaflow mufflers and some LONG AWAITED (3 years) dyno time.
First run- 244 Rear wheel HP/ 293 lbs. Torque- very poor run!
Fifth run after 1.5 hours or so timing adjustments/ throttle cable adjustment (wouldn't open all the way when I had the pedal to the floor- Duh!!), and some carb adjustments:
348 Rear wheel HP/ 386 lbs. of torque
I am satisfied with this as Keith stated that my 049 stock iron '73 heads are holding me back at this point for 400 Rear wheel HP... he recommended I find some aluminum heads......
I read about an Impala with my similiar buildup (cam/heads/intake) and got 360 Rear wheel HP....
Car runs great- starts fine/ quieter with this undercar exhaust (had side pipes)..... Very happy....
Yesterday it was the first time since May 31st, 2004 that I drove the car. I did quite a bit of work on it over the last 11 months.... Good to be back on the road!
I recommend anyone here in the Phoenix area get a hold of Keith Shuster for dyno tuning or major/minor exhaust work- very professional, honest, trustworthy- and I learned quite a bit from him!!!

I just finished my motor on the 74 and will be taking it to the dyno for tuning. I don't think, however, that I will be anywhere close to what you have. I only have a small block

Don't underestimate those 049's...they can do VERY well with a good porter working on them. There are tons of 10sec cars running with them. There's well over another 100-125 RWHP left in them if you wanted to make rest of the combo a little wilder.

427Hotrod-
Thanks! I agree- I know we could have done better because on other tests of this combo, the peak HP was at 5400; my motor peaked out at 4800!

Good to see you around here!
Thanks for the feedback! NEXT time I am out there, I am calling you!
My cousin just bought a house in Duxbury (DELUXBURY) right off exit 10, so now I have a place to stay.... my plan is to get out there for even a few days- I want to walk Duxbury beach out to Gurnet point like I did in 1987......
Have you had your '79 in for a dyno run yet?

If you want more power take those heads and have them worked over, a little bigger cam, etc. 450 rwhp is not a too distant goal. I made 450 rwhp and 470 rwt with a set of ported ovals, dual plane, medium solid roller, and a holley 850 flowed out a little.
