You can try header wrap spray coating, I recently used it on wrap, it looks like chrome silver, good to 1500*. I sprayed some on my headers just to see how it would last and to date they look great, my under carriage never sees rain so that helps........ceramic coating/Jet Hot is the best way to go.....

I coated a set of old headers with POR-20. Let it dry and took a torch to it. Didn't flinch, but haven't had the headers installed to test actual operating (1500deg) temp.
