Am I the only one that hates the term "Stingray"?
Maybe it's because I've got a '68, but I find that term...annoying. Don't know exactly why, other than it seems most who use it don't know squat about Vettes. There have always been multiple Vettes in our family and I've NEVER heard any of us call any of them stingrays...even the C2s... They were alway just "Vette"s. If we needed further qualification, we would add the year or engine size/type. When we added a C4 to the stable, we would drive either the "85" or the "68", etc.
"Stingray" (or "Sting Ray") just seems bubba. No offense to those who find the term endearing.
Am I crazy? Do I need a reality check/ attitude adjustment?

I agree somewhat! The Stingray name is used by many folks who know hardly anything about the Corvette! I always get that ( is that a Stingray??) I just hate that question!! Drives me nuts! It seems that name is for people who never owned one!
I like your 1968 Stingray
I had a 68/390 I redid, and it turned out super! I had my 67 at the time, and decided to put my effort into her! I will have another tho!
I do like the badges the way the general did them!

Well, I have already been called " dated " this week so you might as well add " bubba". I have always liked the Stingray label, however I have to admit I don't typically use it when I refer to my cars. Regarding "not knowing squat about Vettes"

A 'Vet' is either a war veteran, or an animal doctor, but not a car. Hey, you asked.

68-77 vettes are called stingrays the emblem wasn't on 68's because they started to never use it on c3's since they were so different from real sting rays 63-67s so I hate it for ya but you too have a stingray.
is kinda weird name but 68-69s favor stingrays and sharks both! long body and narrow gut like a shark bu with gills like a ray (well a shark too)

I like the question: "Is that a Stingray Man?"
or how some unknowing think that a Stingray was a special Corvette model or version.

yeah, but on the other hand, Corvette isn't much better. originally, a corvette was an amphibious assault vehicle.

i don't use it, but i dig it. at least for my 65. somehow i don't feel it applies to my 75. I KNOW, I KNOW, they labeled this year and that year. just mentioning how i feel. not asking anyone to agree or validate that feeling.
