Default Help w/potential purchase

Hi all. We're looking at purchasing a 77 Vette, Auto (TH400), L82, 65000 miles. Looks good, has new paint, but MIGHT need some serious work. Figured i'd ask the experts here for some advice.
It has a "bad" power steering leak - pump/lines probably have to be replaced.
T-tops leak. Seals would have to be replaced.
When coming out of Park (into Reverse specifically), there is a major CLUNK (jerking the entire car rather violently). Reverse to drive isn't quite as harsh.
Also, shifter pulls from Park to First without touching the button. No stops whatsoever, except for the detents at each gear. Button isn't stuck down and can be pushed down w/no problem, but has no effect on shifting (maybe something inside the shifter is stuck though - a rod that connects to the shifter ****?)???
We would probably take the car in to have the items replaced. Any ballpark idea in terms of pricing for the aforementioned repairs costwise? What would a fair price be to pay for a vehicle in the aforementioned condition? The owner mentioned the trans was rebuilt about 4 yrs ago, but it seems like something is internally wrong as it clunks that bad going into gear. Trans shifts smoothly though when driving, both part-and-hard throttle.

Oh, and do both auto and manual trans cars have the key release on the steering column? A buddy's auto 77 Trans Am doesn't have one, but this 77 vette does. Insight?

Thanks in advance everyone!

I am in Oakland county as well. I would gladly go look at this car for you. I do this for alot of forum members. I would be more concerned with rust on this car then the simple mechanical problems you mentioned. Probably just needs u-joints. Hard to say without seeing it. I do not charge for this however i will glady accept a 6 pack of beer!!!
