Default Headrest Re-covering

Looking for any tips on installing new vinyl covers and foam. I can see that I'm going to have to find some way to evenly compress the foam to install the flap piece on the bottom. What kind of glue would be best to use?

Any help appreciated, TIA!

69 Headrests are in some ways not that common. I noticed that as of now, no one has answered your question. I can't help. I have a 68 without headrests. My 1969 that I used to own had them, but I dont' remember that much about the headrests. I wish that we 68 and 69 owners could buy headrests and shoulder belts to upgrade our cars. Not many 68 and 69 people elected to buy them, but today we'd all like to have them!

My passenger side head rest is worn, no doubt from the driver grabbing it when turning to look toward the rear when backing up. I purchased a pair of sewn covers several years ago (can't remember where) and I managed to tear one when pulling it down over the original. The vendor replaced it and I got both on without further problems. The loose fit at the base of the head rest bothers me. I have been unable to come up with any idea as to how to tighten the fit. A couple of days ago I contacted an upholstry shop and hope to get down there today to have them take a look. I'll let you know what they say.

BTW, to 68/70 vette, my understanding is that all 69's came with head rests and shoulder belts. If yours are missing, someone pulled them.

Corvette America will refoam and recover them for $150. They also sell the covers if you want to do it yourself. They are the non-sewn covers as original. I believe Rik's Corvette also has this service at the same price.
