79 Glove Box Lock ?
How do you remove the locking mechanism from the glove box on a 79 ? No this isnt my car, I have the 76, my brother-in-law has the 79.

There should be a hole on the side of the lock mechanism, insert a tiny screwdriver or other item in the hole and the lock should release.
There's been several threads on that subject and should be in the archives, I know one thread had very detailed pictures.
