it runs inside the tranny tunnel parallel with the transmission via wire clips. Comes out on passenger side of tranny tunnel right at the starter...

The positive cable attaches to the starter as described. The only other battery cable is the neg and it attaches to the frame in front of the battery compartment behind the driver. Disconnect from the battery also to avoid potential problems if raising the body. Don't forget the radio antenna cable and ground strap.

On my 1968, the B+ battery wire is routed along the right (passenger) side of the transmission tunnel. It's hard to see since it's between the tunnel insulator and the fiberglass transmission tunnel. The firewall insulation blanket extends into the transmission tunnel, and the cable then runs under the insulation blanket until it reaches a point near the starter. At this point the blanket has a hole in it and the battery cable protrudes through to attach to the starter.

From the point the cable runs under the insulator, the cable is hidden from view until it exits at its opening the the insulation blanket.

My tunnel insulator and insulation blanket are new. The insulator might be NOS. The blanket is a repro.
