Default Front & Rear Bumper Quality

Im getting ready to order a front and rear bumper for my 1980 vette. Dr. Rebuild seems to have good prices. Any opinions on their quality? Is the hand laid better than the urethane?

WAY OT - but are you a musician? One of my buddies just saw a guy named Matt Kearney open for a band called Mutemath in Austin a month or two ago. If that was you, he loaned my your album, and I've been listening to it a bunch for the past week or so.

I installed the true flex ones made by Toledo fiberglass on my 76. I bought them at carlise from Keen Parts. They fit pretty good. The rear was alittle short but I was able to build it up with fiberglass. I also bought the t bolt kits to go with it. I think I paid around 300 each and 25 each for the t bolts. I think they are made by 2 or three suppliers. Toledo fiberglass has an ad in hemmings and they are around 275 each

I've never bought anything from Dr Rebuild that wasn't good quality. I would not be afraid of that one.

Take measurements of your body and talk to each vendor. These cars vary wildly in dimensions and you want the closest fit possible.

Mine is one of the "horror stories".

If you can get the dimensions the Eckler's "Flex Fit" and Toledo's "Tru Flex" I think that's a good idea. I can't tell you what my Tru Flex dimensions were since they've been cut on and glassed.

I haven't mounted it yet, but I held my Truflex front bumper
up to the nose, and it seemed to fit well. ... ordered mine direct from Toledo Pro ... call or email 'em.

from a body guy's point of view - NEVER go with the tru-flex or anything urethane based.

GET the REAL fiberglass - it is stronger, easier to shape to your car, and you don't have to put flex additive in the paint that changes the color slightly.

There is NO good reason for tru-flex...
