Honestly I thought the kit would of been done by now. Two machine shops are holding me up. The guy w/the laser cutter is down, his machine needs to be fixed but it's an expensive repair. For a half a million dollar machine the fix is 10K and the guy making up the modified shock mounts is just slow. It's geared more toward track use but will work on street. All you have to do is turn a **** to stiffen or soften the ride up and go.

How much?

Also, what is the compression/rebound ratio on the single-adjustables (or does it change with adjustment?)? What is it on the Bilsteins?

Double adjustables are $330 each. (I told you they are expensive) For the single adjustable they start at 10/10 and move on up. With the double you'll be able to adjust both. I have no clue what the Bilsteins are.

Not sure yet. When I get all my parts back from the machine shops I will also get price quotes. Until than I'm not sure.

So which QA1 Shocks are we talking about, the normal ones, not the coilovers.

Stocker Star?
Ultraride?
Street Star(?)

Does anyone understand the difference between them? I can't find any good description as to why to use one over the other.

I used the QA1 shocks (TC1574P) with the stock 9-leaf and a 330lb fiberglass spring. For the money they are nice shocks. Each click makes a noticeable difference and I never got past 6 clicks; 3-4 rode best and anything above that just made the rear end bounce.
I then converted to a coil-over system using the Ultra Ride UR4855B shocks. They only have a rebound adjustment. They worked real well except they only have about 4" of travel so I had another system made to use a 5" travel shock. I think that would work best being behind the rear axle but haven't tried them yet.
I was curious about the Air Ride system so I decided to spend the 1K$ and try it out. I'm running 65lbs of pressure using the 5-gallon tank but I took to much weight off of the shocks to my liking so i'm re-adjusting my levers to put 200lbs back on them to make them work better. I'll let you know how it turns out.

The book I got from them says:

Stocker Star: A shock with Deflective Disc Valving and a 12 Position Valving Adjuster that does both compression and rebound.

Ultra Ride: A coil-over shock with Deflective Disc Valving and a 12 Postion REBOUND (only) Valving Adjuster.

Street Star: A shock with Deflective Disc Valving with "increased compression sensitivity, creating the ultimate street rod valving for non-coil-over suspensions." Your on your own to interpret what that does for you. I've used the first two and the big difference to me was the lack of compression adjustability for the Ultra Ride. It did ride nice however.

I installed Stocker Stars last week, and I'm really impressed. It's a lot of fun to play with the settings, and it definitely won't be a "set it and leave it" thing for me.

I found settings 5 and 6 gave a nice smooth ride (almost as good as my Benz!), but still left a little bounce when driving fast. Even so, it's a big improvement in both ride and control over my previous Bilstein Sports.

Settings 9 and 10 eliminated the bounce. The car handled really well with this setup. Unfortunately, hitting big dips in the road was literally painful. The shocks could definitely use a larger rebound/bump ratio. Still, it's very nice for short durations, and will be useful for autocross. For regular driving, I'll just lower the stiffness.
