Default e-bay car, strange 427?

This guy claims it to be an original 427 ci big block car, but it is definitely a small block, small block hood too. Not to mention the many other wrong things, 68 taillights, wrong steering wheel etc.

This is another of Michael Montriff's cars, don't touch it with a barge pole, it's probably three cars welded together and the rear end is from a big block.....

The seller says it has a small block crate motor in the description. But once the original BB is gone, it's gone...

He does not mention Small Block, he just says a "GM Type Crate motor"
I think his ad is misleading.

Hmm, it doesn't add up to me. Its a shame I love '69 BB cars. In fact that IS what I wanted until I gave in for a nice low mile '71 LS-5; in the wrong color, i.e. Ont Orange.

Wrong tach for a 390hp car. Also, unless they changed the front springs the car would be sitting alittle higher in the front with the lighter small block motor. I sincerly doubt this car was ever a big block car. This guy is bad news. He has developed a really bad rep in the corvette business. Just about everything he sells is doctored.

There are engine pics which show a centre pull rocker cover small block.
It looks like rust under the VIN number as well.

I think the ad is misleading.

A nice original 427 C.I. Big Block.

If reading that I would think that the original 427 engine was still in the car. Not that it USED to be a 427 car. But that it still IS a 427 car.

The interior doesnt look as beautiful as he claims it is.

It has a 6000 redline tach--a 350 horse car. And if it was an original BB car, why would someone put a SB hood on it?
Other things to check for are a larger front sway bar than SB, a rear sway bar, and caps for the ujoints at the differental. The radiators are copper for BB with an overflow.

Please do not deal with this guy Montrief/unlimitedvettes. I had a bad experience with him as have many, many others and my only hope is nobody else goes through the same thing. There are many other posts on this board about him also. If anybody has had a bad experience with him, let me know. Thanks, Paul

Thankfully, the word must be out about this guy. I always see his E-Bay auctions and it seems that none of them ever sell.

You can identify many of his auctions by the descriptor (sic) "NU PAINT"

in fact.... if you want a good laugh, do an ebay search: corvette nu paint

I can hear it now: Hey, I didn't say it was "NEW" paint, I said it was "NU" paint, you know, nu, as in nu... uhhhh sort of like "un" except spelled backwards......
