Default L 48 modification

I recently purchased a 76. The prior had done some mods to the engine but being that I'm not quite an engine person, I would like to know what his mods did for the engine. Here is the list:
Clevite 77 Bearings/Victor Reinze Gaskets, Silvolite Flattop pistons (4 valve ?), Block cleaned and honed, Crank polished, New 283 heads(powerpack), valve guides,ARP stud bolts, Comp Cams roller rockers, Summit cam & lifters, hardened pushrods, aluminum racing waterpump, Holley street dominotor intake, Pertronix Coil (50kv) & module, and lastly Road Demon Carburator. It sounds really nice but what has this done for the engine? More horsepower? Better performance? Made it worse? Help please ?

You may gain some performance. Your specs are kind of vague. I believe those are 59cc heads, so combined with the flat top pistons it will bump compression. The dual plane Street Dominator is a nice intake. Make sure everything is tuned properly (carb and distributor) and go from there.

welcome to the forum

The heads and the pistons increase compression -> better performance

From yourr list it seems he bought some pretty good parts - how does it run ??

I have a L48 myself and there is not a lot you can do to make it worse

without knowing the exact particulars its hard to tell what you actually have....however the sourced parts are all good name products so if his ability to match components and install them correctly is good you have a nice engine....you tell us how does it run? it should be very strong if everything is matched/installed properly
