How does the carpet lay over the light switch pedal in a 71? I see there's a plastic covering thing built into the carpet that indicates it would lie on top of the pedal.. but something about this just doesn't seem right.. would anyone care to take a picture of theirs or explain? I don't want to cut it.. and I don't want to just glue it down there - help!
On my 68 there is a "pedal" shaped like a hockey stick that mounts to the floor and goes over the dimmer switch. It ends up looking like a gas pedal mounted over the dimmer switch.
E-mail me if you need me to send you a picture of the pedal. My car is in the paint shop but I have a picture of the pedal off the car.

Carpet goes over the switch on mine, not really a problem, sometimes I hit it and the hi beams will be on when I turn the lights on but not a big issue. I think that going over the switch looks cleaner too, since the carpet sometimes creeps fwd and the switch might pop out of a hole if you happen to cut one.
Just lay the carpet over it. Period. End of story.
Haha.. thanks man
Just really confused me because I was gonna glue mine down with adhesive and the way the pedal makes connection with the floorboards seems pretty brittle - so I'm just gonna glue around it and slap it on top of the pedal.
