I think you could pay around $700 to have it shipped. Of course you could play it safe and leave it here with me

San Diego is a nice area, but too hot for me. Good luck with your move!

You can probably get it for $700, but that is on the low end. Prices will vary based on open or enclosed, how flexible you are with the shipping dates, and if you want door to door shipping or if you can transport to a terminal. Between $700 and $1700 depending on the above. More if you are inflexible with dates.

Yes, $700 sounds a little towards the low side. I have shipped many cars across the USA. And normally, from Il, it costs around $850. But that is for an enclosed carrier. I shipped a race car from AL to Los Angeles last year for $675 in an open carrier. But the car got completely filthy from road grime. I had to spend about a $100 to get it cleaned up. If you shop around, you can get a good deal. But be careful who you get, I have heard of some carriers that have caused damage to vettes due to the low ground clearance. Someone on the forum posted about a terrible experience where their vette was damaged. So it would be advisable to get some references.

I bought a car near San Diego and live very close to you. I used Intercity lines because they have a great reputation and are fully insured. I paid about 1100.

Just a word of caution. If it's a multi car transport...demand to be on top. You don't want fluids from others dripping down on your car.

Intercity may not be the cheapest but I have never ever had a problem with them damaging anything. Some of the cutrate places will damage the car just opening the door inside the trailer while you are standing there and they will swear it was like that.
