Default glass/wheel code question

my windshield has the code 12 A on it and inbetween the 12 and the A there is a arrow looking thing pointing down...not something that is on newer vehicles but is this a proper code for a 68? the side windows say astro so I know those are original.

another thing where would do look for the AG on 68 wheels at? are they on the outside easy to see or what? and on the side view mirror I haven't saw any code where would hat be if it's original.

You should see a stamped "AG" within an inch of either side of the valve stem

That windshield code is found on most, if not all windshields. Original windshields will say "Safety FlowLite" with the LOF(Libby-Owens-Ford)dashed logo in between the words "Safety FlowLite". Tinted original glass will say E Z Eye Shaded Soft Ray above the LOF logo. Originals will be date coded below all this.

sorry car is in a garage down the road so not like I can run out and look SO the 12 A and that arrow is even on the original windshield OK good so I need to look for hte safety labled place and below that should be the code correct? also is factroy tinted just mean that 3" from the top that is tinted to keep the sun out of your eyes? mine has that but weather it's original glass or not i don't know yet.

where are the codes on side view mirrors?

and the AG is on that chrome lip thats on the outside so the AG should be able to see right? I didn't see anything but if it's small I probably missed it I just glanced since I didn't know where to look

Original mirrors are dated like "11 DMI 7", which is "November Donnely Mirror Inc 1967" or "3 DMI 8" for "March Donnely Mirror Inc 1968" This is at the very top middle of the glass.

hm weird my car is a no hit car (saw it stripped when my friend who I bought it from had it painted) but the mirror on it says 2-DMI-9 which stands for feb. 69 right? well this is on a 68 a early 68 at that which had the mirror mouting 4" up from late 68's and 69 etc. I remember my friend saying the only thing they found body wise when it was painted was there was some blue paint under the drivers mirror so he said sometime or another the door was probably replaced by a door off another one and they didn't take the paint off when they painted it from under the mirror, or someone took the mirror off a 69 and paint rubbed off from the gasket maybe? paul what you think
