"After dinner, we did the usual wild and crazy things George and me are known for: bought some car magazines and read them while Pete watched the hockey game. Some things never change."
Pete got the ticket. That much we know....

Thanks for checking it out guys. For a while I was worried people were boycotting everything I post because of the 302 thing
Glad to see you aren't

I can't wait until I can do one of these road trips in my vette. As soon as my son finishes his vette, maybe we'll take both of them on a road trip.

Neat story. I want to do that with my sons some day-but 1 at a time. I can't imagine 3700 miles in a C3 with 3 adults if I read the story correctly.

..... the only thing neater than a C3 with a 302 would've been a C1 with a dual-carb 409!

I kept thinking through the whole story how did they get three adults in a C3? Did I miss something?

Sounds like you missed reading 101.
From the very top of the story...
"For some time, George Bassek and I had been threatening to take one of the toys and hit the roads of North America for a "driver’s vacation"."
