If I can do it.. you can too! [DIAL-UP BEWARE]
Alright guys... I always enjoy watching people's restorations underway and encourage you guys to post them up if you have the pictures - this was how I originally got hooked on this site!
Let me start from the beginning and introduce myself - I'm Michael, I live in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area, I'm 21, and am attending LSU (hoping to become a lawyer some day). I've always had a strange fascination with Corvettes. When I was 12 years old, my uncle took me for a ride in his 78 coupe and I instantly fell in love with the fenders, the sleek design, the rumble of the engine, and squeek of the wheels when launching out from a stop sign. I knew that one day I would have one - it was my dream. It took me 7 years to save up the money and find the right one - I wanted a red coupe with chrome bumpers. I finally found one in Texas, and on my 19th birthday my uncle and I went to go check it out (it was a loooong drive to Tyler, Texas - but we managed to make the trip there and back in a day) and as soon as I knew it, I had my first corvette - a red 71 coupe.
Follow along as I restore "Millie"....
I have now dropped nearly 14k into this car - including the cost of the car, so I don't think I'm doing too badly (as opposed to some horror stories I hear).
Thanks guys for helping me out.. because without you, I wouldn't have even known where to start on my restoration - you guys have provided me with information, guided me, and influenced every step of my restoration...
Here's to everyone at this forum!!

If you guys have any questions.. feel free to ask...
Paul,
I sure could have used some help on that tank (I think you have already done this install)!!! It took me so long to get it back in! If you need any help on anything, don't hesitate to ask either - who knows, I might have "been down that road before."

Yeah it would be a piece of cake now that I've done one. I'm kind of embarrassed to say but I couldn't figure out how to get the tank straps off. Then I realized they looped all the way around after looking at it for an hour or so. :o I haven't told anyone that so keep it quiet.
My next project with be a complete suspension rebuild. New bushing everywhere and VBP monoleafs front and rear.

Love them chrome bumpers... cars lookin good.
Wish I had put insulation down before the carpet.... it gets real hot in there. Luckily I aint got no roof to hold it all in.

Very nice.....if you are putting as much dedication in to your studies as you are in the vette, it won't be long before you get the Juris Doctor degree......Keep up the great work!
