Kinda hard to see all of the thumbnail size pics. But looking good. Should be fun when you get it done.

not to sound dumb but why are you using a carb on the LS1. I thought the one good point of an LS1 is to have 400hp with 25mpg. by using a carb I don't see how that can work to justify the swap.

I wonder this same thing myself.I would love to have the LS1 in my 75 but I would go with the FI.

DARE TO BE Different my fellow corvette lovers.... DARE TO BE different...
Beside it looks more orginal this way to the untrained eye. More shocking to the trained eye.

IF you are running a gen 1 Small block or Big block I will still beat you on gas mpg, driveability, and power.
The LS1 carb loses to fuel injection on cold start up ( i Live in Florida) low speed driveability and mpg ( I am running a TH350 )....power levels are same according to last 2 tests n super chevy and hotrod.
What I like is the price and ease of installation.... Fuel system and computer harness issues associated with the FI...are costly.
And I got my LS1 as a LONGBLOCK... no harness or intake or fuel injectors.

You should relo your coil packs to the back of the heads. It will really look like a small block. Looking good.
Why heater hoses if you live in Florida?

Well I never had the computer ...harness...fuel system... or intake when I got my LS1. For me to get that stuff... (buing it new or used) Plus mount the computer somwhere? the 77 and down doesn't even have a glove box? And then tune the computer to match my aftermarket camshaft... plus remove the gastank to install a high pressure pump and lines... it would be alot of cash on a already expensive project.

Electronics are not as expensive as you might imagine.
I'm guessing you paid $699 for the intake and electronics+$300 for a new carburetor+$300 for a new hood since the air cleaner wouldn't clear and $200 to paint it. That's around $1400
I can buy a used F-body intake, throttle body and fuel rails for $250. I can buy a used computer for $100, +$300 to program it ($250 if I buy my harness from S&P). A good fuel pump is $150. That's $800 (or $750).
As far as a harness I can buy used for $100 + $450 rework, $600 for Painless, $700 from Howell, or $800 from Street and Performance. So I can do fuel injected with what you had for around $200 more even if I buy the harness from S&P. I can do it for the same money or less with a used, re-worked harness or a Painless harness.
All the used prices are for 98 Camaro on www.car-part.com today.

good point... but I can't be different then.
I already owed the carb and wanted to change the hood anyway. And I have a NOS plate system... that will go on one day just for FUN!
Either way.... If or when I upgrade in the future it will be a magna charger blower and FI for sure. But first I need to get this on the road.
It must be a good system... first few weeks I tried to order it it was out of stock?!? somebody must be doing it besides me.

Thats a lot of work, but in the end it should be one great ride.
I can see why you would go to the carb setup. Without the added expense of all the other peripheral associated pieces, it could get so expensive for ones budget, that it would not be worth the swap at all.
