Default Cali. Emissions!!!

I am trying to get a matching numbers carb for my 77 and i have found a great buy on eBay with part # 17057522. This would work fine if the sixth number wasn't a 5!

With the sixth number being a 5, it means this carb was meant for Cali. emissions and a 2 would mean 49 state emissions.

How does this change the carb, if it does at all? performance? cfm? anything? Does it matter that it is a five rather than a two?

That's not the basis for assignment carb part numbers...rather is was random and once assigned based on a power team configuration. By that I mean engine horsepower, transmission and emission target.

Secondly I find no record of a 17057522 being a Corvette Carb in 77...or any year for that matter though the number series suggests the carb was used in a 77 Gm vehicle.

What's configuration your trying to match up to? And does the carb have a date code?
