Back From Trip!
1700 miles around Lake Superior and the only mechanical problem was a seized fan clutch 200 miles from home near Superior, WI. Besides the starter and transmission this was about the only moving part I hadn't replaced before we left
. Here's some pics. The car getting bumpers and paint about 3 weeks before leaving. Cosmetically it's still a work in progress.

Road pulloff by Grand Portage, MN

Adding some gas at Quimet Canyon, Ontario

Four Star accomodations at Jackfish Bay, Ontario. The cabin was old but clean.

Kakabeka Falls, Ontario. A highlight of the trip for me.

Heading toward the lake.

Someone forgot the charger for the digital camera :o so everything after northern Ontario (Mackinac Island, Whitefish Point, Sault St. Marie etc.) was photographed with a disposable camera
. Anyway if you've ever considered a trip like this just get your car ready and DO IT! On top of it all the weather was nearly perfect the whole time. John

I don't know how I missed the original post. I am glad someone brought it back up.
. All those miles and we only saw 2 C-5's, 2 C-4's, and 1 other C-3. Besides having loads of fun with the Vette it was nice to have a week away from the kids. It was also good to see them again when we got home though.

I did a 1300 mile trip to Springfield, Missouri last fall. Loved every minute of it.
Luckily I didn't have any problems as I was on some real back roads where stopping was not a good option.
Looks like you actually saw sunshine, nice!!!
Brent......
Wish I had the nerve to take a long road trip like that in my Corvette but when the subject comes to mind I start getting visions of flatbeds.
